Another big week for me! I spent a lot of time in my kitchen! I make my Hot chocolate a few times every week, I made pumpkin pancakes AND I had a Topsy Turvy Cake order. And FINALLY I started my tile back-splash in my kitchen (and my fireplace)! I’ll be posting it this week sometime so I hope you come back and check it out! I also posted my felt ruffled flower tutorial. I’ve been searching all the tutorials I could find and I think I have a better way to make it next time. But this is how I made mine.
On to the features! Check out the amazing crafts from this last week!
This is absolutely AMAZING! At first glance I thought this monogram was painted, and that was impressive enough. But NO, it’s Paper Quilling! Absolutely AMAZING! I mean truly impressive, and that paisley pattern? I love paisley! Even before the quilling she hand made this letter! I would have just bought one. So each step of this project is just incredible. So go check it out! But there is no way I’d have the patience to make this.
From quilling to weaving, this weaved paper art is amazing! And it’s another multi step craft! First they made their own colored paper using food dye! THEN they cut out the strips and weaved it together. And finally framed it! It’s just lovely! I can see it on a much larger scale too, wouldn’t that be cool (but time consuming). My Daughter loves weaving paper, I might have to see if she wants to try this!
And now it’s time for Thanksgiving crafts and treats! These turkey cookies are SO fun and something my kid’s could help me with. Could these be any cuter? Just great, and the detail of the different colored M&M’s creating the face! Also it uses up some of that extra candy corn I have (I bought a ton planning on a craft, but didn’t use them). If you don’t have any extra candy corn your in luck! It’s probably still at your local grocery store on sale! AND it’s a great excuse to buy one of my favorites, grasshopper cookies as well as your favorite Hershey’s kisses (caramel, Mmmmm)!
I love this changeable Give Thanks frame!! I’ve been intrigued by embroidery lately. Flamingo Toes gives a GREAT tutorial on how to do the lettering. And then once you frame it. The glass works like a dry erase board (remember my Dry Erase Calendar) so you can write what your grateful for over and over again! A fun, changeable month long decoration. I might have to get back into embroidery with this one. Simple, functional, and a great piece for the fall!
So there you have it, some of the features from last week. Don’t forget to take a button if you were featured.
I decided to put the features post and the party post together, rather than separate from now on. I hope that more of the features will get the attention they deserve this way!
I love checking out each and every craft that get’s linked up, I really do. Maybe if we get to the point where we start tripling the amount of link up’s I might not be able to do that, but for now I really enjoy it. I also like commenting on each and every post that get’s linked up. BUT I despise comment moderation. Looking at every link and commenting takes a ton of time, time I’m happy to give, but not when it comes to comment moderation. Do us ALL a favor and TURN IT OFF! If your not getting a lot of comments this is probably why. There are a ton of other ways to protect yourself from spam. I’m ramping up my cake business and getting even busier than a mom of 4 already is. SO I have to cut back somewhere. I still plan on checking out every link, but if I come across comment moderation (especially that new one that doesn’t come up until AFTER you’ve already written your comment on blogspot, Grrrr) I just won’t be commenting. It might not seem like a big deal, but It’s really going to save me a ton of time. So if you don’t hear from me that could be why. I’m so sorry, but I have to make a cut somewhere, and this seems like the best place to start.
Don’ forget to grab a button for you blog somewhere and I can’t WAIT to see what you’ve all been up to this week!
