This past week started off slow, well slow for posting. It was crazy busy for my blog layout though. I redesigned my header, background and buttons. But when I went to put them on the blog it totally messed up my layout, my sidebars and post titles went all out of whack, and no matter what I did I couldn’t fix them! So time for a new theme! What do you guys thing? And don’t forget to change out my buttons if you have one!
I finally got it all fixed and got some posts up. No crafts this week but some fun notices. First up I was totally honored to get asked to make the cakes for the two runner up’s for a photo contest (so go enter) for a new local magazine! Next I FINALLY got my post up for the Ruby Snap cookie tasting party I got to attend a few weeks ago. Seriously amazing cookies! Then Monday I tell you about the guest mad libs spot I got to do for Emily at Is this REALLY my life?. Hopefully this year I’ll get a recipe or craft up!
So it’s past time to announce the winners of my name my stuff contest up! But I had a crazy busy weekend as well as a crazy next few days, so the plan is to do it Wednesday! So come back and check it out!
On to the features…
What an adorable crayon cake! I never would have thought about using a cone for a crayon top! It’s perfect isn’t it? I love finding new cake shapes, themes and ideas. All my kids are artists and I have added an art theme birthday party to my list of to do themes.
It’s too late for me to start this with my own children, but what a fun idea! Framed progressive hand-prints of your kids! She picked out homemade paper and traced her twins hands every few months then years until they were 5. SUCH a fun idea. I was thinking this would look pretty amazing in 3D layers as well.
I have ton’s of yarn, but it’s such a pain to work with sometimes. I love this yarn storage! Imagine how pretty this could look with a ton of different colors too! I’m imagining a shelf of rainbows… Now I need jars, and a shelf!
