Back in the day, long long ago, when I first started having babies we had online monthly mothers groups. I enjoyed using them my first pregnancy, but not everyone on the monthly group was really helpful, or at the best advice. In fact some of the comments on the group boards were down right WRONG, misleading and even potentially damaging! But as a first timer I didn’t know that!
Finding good resources as a parent is a big deal, and it all starts with pregnancy! I’ve talked about how AWESOME the Intermountain moms facebook page is! Now they have an APP!!! (It’s available on Android and iPhone)It’s amazing! I wish I had it when I was pregnant! Even with my fifth pregnancy I still loved knowing the details of what was happening every week during my pregnancy. How big the baby was, what was growing that week, fingers, toes, eyelids, etc…
Not only does the app have weekly pregnancy updates and videos, but under “doc days” there are tons of videos answering commonly asked questions, like “can you color your hair when pregnant” and unlike the misinformation from my mom’s group these questions are all answered my medical professionals!
They have great tools too! Announce your baby is adorable! baby names is always a fun game when your pregnant, my husband and I LOVED the name game (sarcasm, my husband hated that part…), questions for the dr (if your like me and tend to forget questions you think of between appts you’ll be glad you have this), hospital finders (If your water breaks you’ll be able to find the closest place to get checked!), checklist (not only do they have pre-built in items for your checklist, and you can also add your own items!)! All helpful tools you’ll be glad you had! Seriously things I’d use all the time!
The community tab takes you right to the Intermountain Moms FB page, with all it’s amazing resources right at your fingertips!!! Seriously an amazing app!!! And finally the Diary tab, where you can write notes. I’d personally use it to write down things like the first time you felt the baby kick, cravings, the day the morning sickness is finally gone, name idea’s, baby showers, all stuff my children would love to know about my pregnancy’s now that they are older! ANd it records sound, so you can record the baby’s heartbeats at your appts! AWESOME!
Baby Steps is a free app from Intermountain Healthcare. It’s available on Android and iPhone. You seriously need to try this app. I would have loved having this available to me when I was pregnant with my children.
This is an Intermountain Mom’s sponsored post, but all thoughts are my own
