Remember last month when I gave away tickets to Disney on Ice? Well we got to go to the Friday Matenii. As big of a Disney fan as I am AND Ice skating I had never been to a Disney on Ice before. It was SO much fun!
I didn’t tell the kids until that day, I was SO excited to surprise them with it. And while most of the kids were thrilled Computer boy almost refused to go in, we were on the verge of an Aspie fit, but were able to negotiate our way out of it…
Princess (yes, new nickname, she’s picked it out herself, shocking, huh?) loved it SO much! She was totally enthralled with it all and her eyes never left the ice!
Lego boy was surprisingly also really into it! He was humming along to all the songs, and laughing! Times like these make me so so SO happy!
And while Computer Boy put up the biggest fuss about attending he ended up loving it! He did keep his ears plugged (I should have brought his sound canceling headphones) but when we left he said “I can’t believe I didn’t want to go! It was so fun!”
I think I loved the couples the best, the princes and princesses, I’ve always loved the partnering and lifting. But I have to say the Finding Nemo portion was SO cute! the costumes for the sharks were AMAZING! Seriously amazing! how fun would it be to work for Disney? They are even more detailed and over the top than I am!
So I told the kids I wouldn’t buy them anything, BUT that if they wanted to spend their own money they could. Lego boy wanted a sword, but when I told him the cost he said he’d rather save up for a wii game. BUT Princess couldn’t help herself. We went to every single cart they had and at each one she picked out the same toy!
Then she refused to use it during the show- not wanting to run the batteries out! I told her I’d get her more batteries, but she still refused. It’s hiding in a drawer in her room right now, she’s still SAVING it! How cute is that!
Disney on Ice will be coming back to Salt Lake March 6-10 with Dare to Dream- highlighting Disney Princesses! My kids are already asking what day we can go!
disclaimer: I was given tickets to blog about this- but I have a life long love of all things Disney and would have wanted to go anyway!
