I couldn’t help it!!! I know it’s a “bit” over the top but how totally cute and dorky all at the same time. I love love LOVE this little man. And when I saw this pattern online I just HAD to make it. In fact I did a really dumb thing, I pulled an all nighter just to finish it in time! (I used this pattern for the beanie)

There is so much to be thankful for this year. I’m grateful for my children, for a great pregnancy, easy labor, and (for the moment) healthy children. I’m SO grateful for my husband, he’s so supportive of my crazy crafts/hobbies, my GNO’s, and loves be in-spite of, and sometimes because of, my quirks. I’m so glad I met and married someone who I can be myself with (warts and all) and who “gets” me like no one else in this world does. We might not make sense on the outside, but trust me, we are the perfect partners for each other.

I’m grateful for my wonderful in-laws. Not only do they let us live in their basement but they have been so helpful since Baby Boy has arrived. Not only that, but they love me despite our differences, and they are so so SO supportive of me, my husband and the kids. They go out of their way to try to connect with my children, which isn’t always easy, and I so appreciate it.

I’m thankful I made friends this year (you know who you are). Living here has been great for the kids and my husband, but very lonely for me. I’m so glad I finally met some ladies I really connect with this last year.

I’m so thankful my baby sister moved to town. Getting to know my sweet nieces better (and them getting to know me and my kids) was the highlight of my summer. There is nothing better than my sweet niece saying my name and laughing at/with me. And with that it’s time to take a shower, pack up and go to my sisters how to spend this holiday with her family and our parents!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Pumpkin Pie milkshake or ice cream

I know, I know…  Pumpkin recipes are SOOOO last month.  Honestly I made this 2 weeks ago, Really I did.  But I lost my blogging mojo over the last few weeks and now that I’m back in the game I’m finally getting around to posting it.  So it’s okay, see, since I MADE it before Thanksgiving it still works.

pumpkin milkshake ice cream ingredients

Pumpkin Pie Milkshake or Ice Cream
2 C heavy cream
2 C milk
1/2 C Sugar
1/4 C Brown Sugar

Mix it all in the blender…

And throw it into your ice cream maker!  Here is where you decide, if you want a nice thick milkshake you only blend it for 10-15 mins (depending on HOW thick you like it…)  OR run your machine for 30-40 mins to turn it into ice cream!

pumpkin milkshake ice cream graham cracker topping

This was my little girls favorite part!  Grab some graham crackers (I picked cinnamon ones) and crush em up!  I like using a gallon size freezer bag and rolling over it with a rolling pin.  Easy peasy for the kiddo’s.   For Ice Cream leave the crackers a bit chunky and mix them in when the ice cream cycle is over.

For the milkshake once your satisfied with the thickness pour it into glasses, top with whipped cream and the crushed graham crackers! Serve (with a spoon, mine was on the super thick side of things.  I wished I had taken it out just 5 mins earlier!   But no one seemed to mind in the least!   Both the milkshakes and the ice cream was a huge hit with everyone in the family!

Happy Thanksgiving!

For my birthday, a few months ago, my sweet Husband got me an airbrush set! Yippee! I was So excited to try it out, but with the Hurricane, and school, and his new job and moving I haven’t taken any cake orders. Plus I didn’t want to say I could do it until I played around with it a few times. So here is my first airbrushing attempt.

We’re joining my mom’s family for Thanksgiving, and I’m in charge of the desserts. So I made my Chocolate Nemesis (my Uncles Fav) and a Lemon Sour cream pie (for my mom) a pecan pie and a chocolate pecan pie, and 2 Pumpkin pies. And finally I made this cake! It’s a dark chocolate sour cream cake with bittersweet chocolate ganache and marshmallow fondant! I can’t WAIT to show it to everyone! If I can keep it safe from my kids and the 4 hour drive… At least I have documentation of how great it turned out. I’m SO please!
Sorry for the large amounts of photo’s, but I can’t decide between flash and no flash. I really need to get a nice light, so I won’t have to use flash. Maybe I’ll get a good daylight shot of it tomorrow! Happy Thanksgiving. I hope you all have wonderful desserts to enjoy!
