Hi I am Chelsea, owner and photographer at Chelsea Peterson Photography. My husband and I will be married for nine years this April, and we have 3 adorable girls together. My first job is being mommy to my 3 little girls. They teach me patience, love, patience, service, kindness, to view the world with different eyes, and did I mention patience?! But really they are seriously amazing and I am lucky to have them in my life.
Photography is my creative outlet, the thing I do for me. I believe that we all need something in our lives that is a little selfish, so we don’t loose who we are in the chaos of life. The real hard work comes with learning how to balance it all. My trick is to limit the amount of sessions I take and learning to say no. This is not always an easy thing to do. I have physical reminders around my desk to remind me what is most important and that everyday gone is a day I will not get back.
My 4 year old is planning on being my assistant once she is 13 and she practices her skill on my point and shoot and iPhone all the time. I have tons of pictures of random objects all over my house and selfies of her cute little face. My 6 year old is a social butterfly and wants to be just about everything she can think of being when she grows up, and have 13 children! My 18 month old is full of spunk and energy, she’s a copycat right now, and basically attached to my side whether I like it or not! Many people ask if we want a boy, but having all sisters and now daughters, boys scare me a little. I love my girls.
My husband. He is my rock, my best friend. Without him my photography wouldn’t even be possible. He allows me to leave the family to go on sessions, and be gone for hours, sometimes even in the middle of a day. He believes in me and supports me. I can’t imagine not having him in my life. And even when life isn’t easy, and even when I’m a nag, or I’m upset at him, we always end in laughter.
I am excited to be sharing with you. I hope to make it as simple as I can, but the only way it will ever click is if you get out and practice what I teach.
