I am a baby person. I LOVE babies, all babies, but of course mine are especially wonderful to me. I don’t mind the sleeplessness, crying or spit up. I’ve never minded diapers and I love holding cuddling and even sleeping with my babies. I’m a family bed, baby wearing, nursing on demand mother and I LOVE every second of it. Baby boy has been no different, in fact he’s not only precious, but he also happens to be a really extra happy baby! I ADORE nursing (and allow them to nurse pretty much whenever they want, which leads to kind of all the time. Babies are just so so SO much fun, and every stage is just such a joy!

Baby boy has been no different, in fact he’s not only precious, but he also happens to be a really extra happy baby! He, like my others, has learned certain things super early, smiling, rolling over, head control, pushing up, and it’s all so much fun. He’s also really talkative, and I love hearing his sweet coo’s and all the other joyful noises he makes. I esp love his new growl/grunt when he wants extra attention, it’s adorable!

Now he’s starting to grab things. I love that look of concentration as he trys SO hard go grab that thing he sees, even though he can’t quite control his hands quite yet. When he manages to get lucky and grab it he’s THRILLED! He loves his paci clip, the ribbon, not the paci… He’s not a paci fan, but does love to suck and chew on practically everything BUT his paci.

He constantly holds his sweet little fists in this american sign language T. He has since birth, probably before, and I love it. He love standing, but doesn’t like bending much yet, he also love to flex and point his adorable fat toes.  And that serious look of concentration when you can tell he’s trying to figure something out (in this case the camera)

I love his face as he looks at me, that trust and love, I’m pretty sure my face looks the same, full of wonder, joy and love.  And those TOES!  I just love to tickle his sweet fat feet!

I love his sweet soft ears, and his new neck wrinkles.  And what’s not to love about that bum?  Just want to bite it (no I don’t eat my children, it’s a term of endearment thing), and the bum dimples?  TOO cute!

I love tummy time (which doesn’t last long now that he’s learned to roll over- although he’s still surprised everytime) and he has the most adorable outie belly button (thanks to a belly button hernia- still cute)

He’s just so sweet, and lovely and already has such a fun personality!  We are all so in love with him.  I can’t remember life before him and can’t imagine what we would be doing without him. These four months have gone WAY to fast for my tastes, I wish I could slow it all down and enjoy and savor each stage just a little bit more. There is nothing I’d rather be doing than being a mom and I’m so grateful for all I’ve been blessed with!

  1. He is so precious and adorable! Thanks for sharing!

  2. So cute, Ashlee! Happy 4 months to your little man!!! I just recently started following your blog. My baby boy just turned 10 months. They grow so fast and you are right, they are SO fun.

    • They do grow so fast, it seems to go faster every time somehow too. Maybe because I’m so busy with the other 4 as well. I feel like I blink and months go by! 10 months is SUCH a fun age!!!

  3. He is so, so cute! And I think we have a similar parenting style :)
Keep the photos of that cutie coming!

    • Thanks! I know some people are horrified by how I parent and some get it. Luckily we can all decide for ourselves what’s right for our kids! I’m just glad when people can respect each others differences and decisions! When we first started co sleeping with my 2nd child I kept it to myself and never told anyone for fear of how people would react. Then after his diagnosis of Aspergers I was so glad I did. That I didn’t look back with regret that I didn’t so something I felt was right for my son because of society’s misconceptions and judgments.

  4. He’s so beautiful, love these pictures!

  5. He is just so darn cute. It’s hard to believe he’s already 4 months old!
    xoxo

    • I know, crazy right? Hey shouldn’t you be finding out what your having soon??? Or am I off with my dates? I have a sister, a SIL, and about half a dozen cousins and friends pregnant right now so it’s entirely possible I’m way off!

  6. Those toes interlaced with each other! Nothing short of a miracle.

    • Agreed, I love fingers and toes… and belly buttons, and ears, and their tiny tongues, oh and those cheeks (both back and front… ;) ). All of it is pretty miraculous!

Great photos!! I love reading about mamas who don’t place their babies on rigid schedules, but feed on demand. Kudos to you.

    • Thanks- love having a talented photographer for a sister!!! And thank you so much! I used to not share my relaxed parently style since it seems to be so “out” but then I thought there have got to be other moms out there who are also a bit scared of the rigorous mom’s stating whats “right” and “wrong” and speaking out is a good thing! I’m a BIG believer in Mom’s intuition and mom knows best. After the Asperger diagnosis I was glad that I don’t look back and have regrets. I know I did what was right for each of my children during their youth because I trusted myself. Plenty of other things in life to regret, right?

I just found your blog and I have to say that I am already in LOVE. I know he is 5 months old now, but my daughter just turned 4 months and sound just like your son. She loves to stand up, and has an adorable outie belly button from a hernia too! I also love nursing and co-sleeping with her. Parenting is so much fun and thank you for sharing your experiences with us. I also love all your crochet tutorials. I do have a small business and was wondering if I credit you if I can sell my finished patterns? If not I completely understand!
Thanks so much for allowing us in on your life. Can’t wait to read more :)

Yes, I’m working on creating a page with the info but as long as you don’t sell my tutorial your welcome to sell product made from my patterns.
